smoothie bowls.

I don't know about you, but in the summer loathe turning on the oven to cook meals and while the girls are napping I don't have the time to sit and make an actual meal. So smoothie bowls have been ah-mazing to make. Super quick and easy, filling enough until dinner and they are so delicious. 

I normally buy the Sambazon acai smoothie packs, but we were out so I just went with whatever we had at home already. The best thing about these is you can tailor them to your preferred sweetness plus add in a bunch of extra ingredients to keep you fuller longer! We had a ton of fresh berries from the farmer's market still and mango's that needed to be used up. I like a lot of texture in my smoothie bowls and nothing too sweet. The girls LOVE these... which is why I made this one during nap time ;) don't worry they had one waiting for when they woke up.

strawberry/mango smoothie bowl:

the base:
1 cup vanilla greek yogurt
frozen strawberries 
(frozen berries is a good replacement for ice!) We still have strawberries from then we went picking last year so I have been itching to use them up.
splash of cashew milk
handful of mango
handful raspberries

chia seeds
almond butter

this is where you can go wild. I really love almond butter on mine and I probably will never go back ;)

  1. ok, new to this... do you blend the base together I assume? The almond butter addition sounds really good!

  2. I love the idea of putting the toppings on, I usually just make a smoothie so I can drink with a straw but I may feel more full mentally if I need to use a spoon ;)
