Anniversary weekend.

Monday came way too soon and we're already planning out the month's weekends of fun things to do.  The summer's here are top notch. I'm a beach girl through and through, but humidity is not my best friend. It gets hot here, but it almost never gets sticky hot and we're able to be outside much longer than we typical are able to if we were still in the South.

We celebrated our anniversary here a few weekends back but Saturday was our real anniversary! Generally we go simple on gift giving, as we've been splurging on other things the past few months. So fresh flowers my new go-to cook book were perfect. Handsome is always difficult to shop for because he usually just orders something for the jeep so I went with some bullets for his 'dad gun' ;) and some whisky that will last him the next year because we hardly drink, but he just ran out.

Four years with my best friend. It seriously feels like it's been light years longer but I'm sure moving and kids are the reason behind that. Handsome and I went to high school together, shared the same group of friends, went off and did our own thing for quite some time and then reconnected about five years ago. He's definitely the best part of me, always making me laugh and fueling the adventurous side of me. By far the easiest and best decision of my life.

We woke up early from camping in the backyard and got the girls ready to go to Lost Lake. We didn't want to go all crazy and hike all day like we normally do so we just took it easy and let Rae walk while we went around the lake. We got gorgeous Mt. Hood views and would you believe that this lake completely drains once a year? Crazy.

Sunday we went strawberry picking and to be quite honest we really went for the milkshakes. The strawberries were more of a bonus. It's a good thing the farm is about twenty minutes away because the shakes are SO good. Oddly enough this year Rae didn't eat all the berries and whatever she did put in her bucket she ended up dumping out. A for effort, girl.

It was at this farm where we swooned over all the string lights they had hung up. Handsome and I talk (quite often) about all the things we want in our forever home. Where the shed/barn would go.. what type of tile would go in the bathroom.. the type of kitchen sink etc. and while we were sippin' on our shakes he said, "I really like those lights, we should do that" and my heart skipped a beat. We packed the girls up, got them down for a nap and handsome left to go find lights. It wasn't too long before they were hung and we ended the day under the starts and our new lights. We'll be spending every night out here for the rest of summer, i love it so much!
