pictures and pickin' flowers

Now that the sun has decided to grace us we've been spending the majority of our days outside. The sun literally does wonders for my soul, it allows Rae to run crazy which makes for longer naps and Bre gets her daily vitamin d fix.. win. win. win.

Right before Aubrey was born we gave Rae a big sister bag with some fun stuff for her, you can read about that here. Her favorite thing from that was her camera.. well besides her lip gloss, but the camera is usually dangling around her neck daily. A few weeks back we took her to the zoo and every one died of cuteness for taking pictures of all the animals. Ever since we left the tulip field she has been noticing all the flowers popping up around us. She noticed the tulips in our front yard and immediately grabbed her "pic-tuh" and headed for the front door.

Her imagination is growing daily and I love watching her make decisions and get excited over the little things. She giggles with each "click click click" and it's hilarious watching her try to be like mommy and take pictures. At just two years old she's observing everything and it's so easy to forget just how little she really is. We keep fresh flowers in the house almost always and as we were about to go back inside she grabbed the tulips and said, "fo-wers for mommy" and my heart was in a puddle.

I couldn't even be upset that she just pulled them out of the ground, it was the sweetest thing. I got her a tiny little bud vase from inside the house, let her fill it with water and instead of leaving it on the counter she asked to go in the backyard to put it in her house, on her table. Some days she drives me bonkers, but these are the days I hold so close to my heart. The ones where we play and laugh and she picks me flowers. With each day as Aubrey gets older and her newborn-ness fades away I not only get a teeny bit sad because our littlest is getting older, but so is miss Rae. These girls have my heart and I hope they'll always know that.

  1. YES vitamin D, finally!! :) What a sweet girl, she is too cute with her camera. I got a wood one for our little Homegirl's nursery, I can't wait for her to play with it someday. Tys has a digital one that takes real pics and it's hilarious to watch him in his stance, taking pics. I think they're such fun accessories for little ones' whose mommies are always snapping away too!! :)
