Sure not sleeping straight through the nights and the being an endless source of food has it's downfalls, but I am on could nine. Two girls you guys, two! and they are so sweet. We're somewhat falling into a rhythm around here, but I have also not had to wrangle both babes by myself yet. My mother has been a HUGE help and I'm going to miss her when she leaves this Friday. Pretty sure I haven't cooked in the past month.. and she cleaned, and let me shower nightly.. the luxuries ;)
and my husband... God I love him. Watching him with Rae has always made my heart soar, but let me tell you.. watching him with two girls is amazing. He's been working hard and well on his way to making a pretty big achievement for his first year as a recruiter in the Air Force and still comes home to chase, tickle, give piggy-back rides, build castles and read with Rae, not to mention change dirty diapers, get endless glasses of ice cold water for me and still tells me I'm beautiful. He's a keeper I tell ya, I've fallen in love with him all over again.
Rae is completely smitten with her big sister title and the repeated "aww-beee" "sistuhhhh" make me melt. The kisses are endless in our house. If Aubrey's in her swing, she's kissing her.. if someone's holding Bre, she's kissing her.. She asks to hold her all the time, but we've learned to keep our hands nearby because once she's done holding her she says, "GO!" and will push her away. Like I said, I've yet to have both girls by myself and the two things I worry about are nap time and how potty training with Rae will go. I suppose I'll just have to make sure Bre's fed before I put Rae down that way she isn't fussing. And potty training is going AMAZING. No accidents, she's only wearing a diaper for bedtime and 90% of the time she's dry in the mornings, but what do I do when she asks to go on the potty while I'm breastfeeding Aubrey? She can't get on the toilet herself and sometimes she plays possum where she says she has to go, but really doesn't.. she just wants you to chase her.
and miss Aubrey, she's such a good baby. I doubt I'll be doing weekly updates on her and let's hope I stay on top of monthly ones ;) She's two weeks two days now, weighs 7lbs 15oz which makes me so happy because I was worried about her weight. Girlfriend likes to spit up with the occasional large amount of spit up so I was worried about her getting enough. Breastfeeding is a little more challenging than it was with Rae, but we're doing much better now. It's definitely one of my favorite (and most painful) parts of being a mama, so I'm thankful that we've been able to have a so far successful time. She's sleeping like a champ. Still mainly during the day, but going through some three and four hour stretches at night. It's funny because Rae was in her crib from the day we brought her home from the hospital.. we we're so big on that. But with Bre she's actually been sleeping in our bed (I promise she's safe!) mainly because I was so worried about her choking in the middle of the night and us not knowing, but we're putting her in the bassinet this week.
In efforts to save a couple hundred dollars, I took Aubrey's newborn pictures and other than not being able to take a family picture I loved how they all turned out! I'll be sharing more soon!!
