The banner came from here and I went with these colors because I wanted to be able to put the banner in Aubrey's room after her party and it definitely made her room complete. I made just a few of each dessert since it was just us at home and it lasted us all through the next week. No surprise that the fruit went first, but don't you worry those 'prinkle cook cooks (cookies) we're asked for almost daily. Flowers make me happy, Rae's dad is pretty dang good at getting just because flowers for us so of course we picked some up for her big day.
I have a love for naked cakes and although mine never turn out quite as beautiful as I hope, they are my favorite. I made a quick blueberry vanilla frosting to go in between the layers and topped it with this fun balloon! We had candles in her breakfast waffles so she didn't miss out on blowing out her two big candles ;)
I think a piñata should be at all birthdays from here on out! It did take a while to do all the fringe, but that's probably because I used tissue paper vs. crepe paper only because that's what I already had. To make the piñata all I did was cut the 2 out of cardboard and strips of cardboard for the sides. Once handsome assembled everything and taped it together I cut strips of tissue paper, fringed it and then started from the bottom up, gluing each section with elmers glue. I left a square open at the bottom so I could fill it with candy. If Rae was older and I knew she'd actually be able to bust open the piñata I probably would've done it at the top, but I wanted the candy to be able to fall out easily once she hit it a few times. It was so much fun watching her hit it and the excitement when the candy fell out was too cute!
This day goes down in the books as one of my favorite days. Still can't believe she's two. I love you so much Raeritto!
