Our Fourth of July

The Fourth of July is probably my favorite holiday.. who doesn't love a holiday celebrated just around America, the land of the free because of the brave. We headed to the lake as soon as we had breakfast and spent a few hours soaking up the sun.

If you know me then you know that I long to live by the water... growing up in Florida just might have done that to me. So when handsome suggested we spend the day at the lake with the whole family (pups included!) I couldn't wait to get out there. We packed up the pups, bbq sammies, some snacks and headed to Hagg lake. We got there much earlier than most of the other fourth of july-ers and found a great spot that Rae and the pups were able to run around at. The sun started getting a little harsh and nap time was upon us so we packed up and headed back to the house.

The dress Rae is rocking is from our neighbor from North Carolina and I may or may not have cried when I received her package in the mail. She's seriously the most thoughtful person, we always had fun little gifts at our doorstep from them back in NC. The rest of the day was spent at the park where, blowing bubbles and running around. It doesn't get dark until almost ten o'clock here and I was not about to keep the babe up that late (maybe next yr) so she went down, handsome and I changed into some comfy clothes and sat in the front yard to hopefully catch some fireworks. Surprisingly we were able to see fireworks coming from all around us and even better Rae stayed asleep until seven the next day-- say whaaa?!

It was a perfect Fourth and we can't wait to go back to the lake!
